One heck of a year

Well, it's definitely been one to remember and the last few months have significantly been better. I've got pretty high hopes for this year. With the crappy end half of 2013 trailing straight into a 2014 from hell (lost my horse and grandpa, hello 4 month long psychotic episodes at a time) and then 2015 starting off pretty damn rough, I wasn't sure how things could even look up anymore. Whereas in 2014 the only true good highlight was getting to go to Kansas, I can say there were a lot more in 2015.

Katsucon was AMAZING and I got to meet a new hotel roommate there (she does awesome things and cosplays) as well as just experience the whole, massive con. There was literally an entire floor dedicated to these amazing cosplayers and I spent so much time in the Artist's Alley. The hotel was amazing too, the lobby had freaking buildings inside of it and a garden (with a water fixture, what even). It was an eight and a half hour car ride down which involved me driving for a solid four hours on a massive interstate highway (which I have no experience doing that) and frankly, conversations get a little loopy after the 5 hour mark. It ranged from titan spawners to mystical mirrored highways (we took the wrong car vs truck ramp on some backwoods highway) and the notes I took on my phone are bizarre from it. It was SO much fun and I will be doing it again.

Horseback has come straight back into my life. I actually began riding again in December of 2014, but in 2015 I was riding basically every weekend. I've improved greatly and I've been moved up to the more advanced horses; so I hope to improve further over the winter. Also, just in October I was able to ride my horse Annie for the first time ever. She hasn't been ridden ever and being the first on was amazing. She has perfect manners and behaved so well, despite having no idea what's happening with this person just on her back and the bridle on. I'm so excited to train her further, I've been waiting all my life for this.

As per usual, I went to CTcon and different Renaissance Faires all summer. It was a really mild summer into autumn, so it wasn't THAT bad of year seasonally. (Actually, it was a welcome break for our never ending winter.) Got my engine remounted and I'm about to get my struts fixed on my car. I managed to get through so many episodes where I didn't know how I possibly could go on and I can honestly say, the last month I've been getting much better. I'm much closer to my old self and I have been on the bright side of things. Petty things don't bring me down as often and I can easily stop myself from thinking "Oh, that's because (s)he hates me" if someone does something one time that isn't how I thought it'd go. Once you stop the little thoughts, the progress is like an avalanche.

If I'm going to be honest though, a huge part of my progress has been psychofoxpickle. She is one of the most amazing people I've ever met and I can't even express how much she means to me. I love her and I can so easily say that having her as a girlfriend has been just amazing and I just cannot find the words for how happy it's made me. Being with her has made the worst parts of 2015 fade away and I absolutely cannot wait for what 2016 will bring.
